As curbside pick ups from your local superstores become more popular, deputies had their own version in a Lowe’s parking lot.

On December 24th at approximately 5:10 p.m. Deputy R.W. Stamm was leaving Stafford Market Place, but wouldn’t get far before he was flagged down by a citizen. The citizen advised he observed a possible intoxicated male driving a Nissan before parking it on the curb in the Lowe’s parking lot.

Deputy Stamm easily located the suspect vehicle due to its poor park job out in front of the business. The vehicle was still running and the driver was slumped over. When the driver, identified as Gregory Thomas of Triangle, 37, woke up, deputies noticed several signs of intoxication. Thomas would also admit to consuming alcohol prior to driving. Empty bottles of alcohol were located inside his vehicle, and it was discovered he had two previous DUIs in Prince William. He would switch things up and make his third in Stafford.

Thomas was charged with driving under the influence third offense in ten years with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
