On December 19, 2016 at approximately 11:03 a.m. Stafford County Deputies responded to a call in the Spring Valley neighborhood. The caller advised that a shot was fired into a dwelling and a middle-aged white male with gray hair fled the scene in a white work truck. The incident appeared to be domestic in nature. Multiple units responded and a vehicle matching the description was observed traveling northbound on U.S. Route 1. A felony traffic stop was conducted north of the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Centreport Parkway. The male exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. A gun was recovered at the traffic stop.
Rodolfo Linares, III age 62 of Skyline Drive, was charged with Attempted Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Breaking and Entering While Armed and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling. He is incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on no bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
