Stafford, VA. A suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday night by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after striking a 12-year-old male subject on a bicycle with her vehicle.
On September 4, 2019, at approximately 7:30 p.m., deputies responded to a pedestrian struck at Paradise Court. Upon arrival, deputies learned a 12-year-old male subject was struck while sitting stationary on his bicycle at the end of a driveway. The victim was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries to his leg.
The driver was identified as Belquis Rubenia Lemus De Rios, 31, of Stafford. Deputies determined the driver was at fault and that she was driving through the neighborhood without a driver’s license.
She was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on charges of reckless driving, no driver’s license, and no insurance.
