Over the past several weeks, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting enhanced traffic light enforcement on Garrisonville Road.
On Saturday, a traffic stop for running a red light led to a DUI arrest.
On August 31, 2019, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Deputy Ahern observed a vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Garrisonville Road and Onville Road. He initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. The deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Field sobriety tests were conducted and a preliminary breath test was administered.
Justin Hill, 20, of Fredericksburg was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence, unlawful possession of alcohol, and a traffic violation. He was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
