Scam Alert

The bold “critical threat” warning is fake and a scam. Scammers often use language like this to create a sense of urgency in an attempt to pressure you into a quick decision.

Scams come in many different forms and are ever changing. To avoid becoming a victim, be sure to remember a few key points. If something sounds too good to be true, like winning a brand-new car despite not entering a contest, often it is in fact too good to be true. Never provide personal information to a source unless you are certain the source is legitimate. Some scammers will pretend to be one’s bank or even a family member to obtain certain information. Like this message, be cautious of unsolicited communication and suspicious URLs you do not know where they lead.

If you encounter a scam, please make sure to report it. This can help prevent others from financial or personal harm.
