On February 14, 2017, at approximately 2:30 PM the Traffic Safety Unit responded to a head-on collision on U.S. Route 1 near the intersection of Layhill Road which closed north and southbound lanes of traffic for approximately 45 minutes. A pickup truck, traveling northbound collided with a blue van traveling in the opposite direction. The van overturned as a result of the collision. Emergency Medical Personnel responded and evaluated both parties at the scene. One subject was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
