Shooting Arrest

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Stafford men after investigating a shooting that occurred in England Run.

On March 10th at 6:36 p.m. the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office learned of a juvenile shooting victim at Mary Washington Hospital. The investigation revealed that the shooting took place in the England Run subdivision. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released later that night. Detectives learned the shooting was in reference to a drug deal and were able to locate the scene of the shooting, as well as, a description of the suspect vehicle.

On March 12th, at approximately 5:26 p.m., deputies responded to an assault that occurred at Wawa located at 830 Warrenton Road. While reviewing surveillance footage of the assault, the suspect and vehicle matched the description involved in the shooting. Deputies were able to get a license plate for the suspect vehicle and located it at a residence in Stafford County. Logan Garrison, 20, was identified as a suspect in the shooting and taken into custody for the assault at Wawa. Nathan Thompson, 21, was identified as the other suspect in the shooting and taken into custody on an outstanding Stafford County warrant for possession of a controlled substance. They were transported to the Sheriff’s Office where interviews were conducted, which led to the execution of multiple search warrants.

Thompson was charged with malicious wounding, possession of a controlled substance, as well as, served on his outstanding warrant. Garrison was charged with malicious wounding, and assault by mob. The investigation is ongoing.
