Deputies worked tirelessly to arrest a larceny suspect earlier this month and illustrated that Stafford County is where the rubber meets the road. Sorry, it took us a little wheel to get around to the release.
On December 12th at 10:01 p.m. deputies responded to Tires Plus in Towne Center at Aquia for a larceny in progress. An alert resident reported a suspect had hopped the fence of the business and was loading items into an orange van.
Deputy E.E. West located the suspect vehicle leaving the scene and conducted a traffic stop with the assistance of Sergeant J.W. Hutcheson, Deputy S. Waheed and Deputy B.E. Vaughn. The driver was identified as an adult male from King George. Four tires were recovered from the rear of the van and returned to the business owner. The driver was charged with petit larceny, trespassing, vandalism to the fence and no driver’s license. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secure bond.
Thank you to the alert resident for providing information in this case.
