A Stafford man was jailed Friday night after being arrested for his third offense DUI.

On April 15th at 7:59 p.m. Sergeant K.P. Lytle and Deputy J.K. Griffith located the vehicle from a drunk driver lookout at the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Garrisonville Road and Mine Road. A witness reported the suspect had left Jay’s Sports Lounge in a black Mercedes and was intoxicated. The driver was identified as Gregory Sanders, 53. Sanders had parked in a handicap spot without a handicap placard and had brass knuckles concealed in his pocket.

Deputy Griffith determined Sanders had forfeited his license and did not have the required ignition interlock installed in his vehicle. Additionally, Sanders had two prior DUI offenses.

Sanders was charged with DUI third offense in five to ten years, driving after forfeiture of license, concealed weapon, no ignition interlock and the handicap spot violation. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
